The Company Windham Harvest Specialties Limited was incorporated in 1999. The company is owned and operated by Jim Irvin. Being well networked in the farming community, Jim was able to recognize the need for ‘value added’ processes which enable growers to extend the marketable shelf life of all fruit and vegetable products. For the past ten years Windham has been focused on expanding the technology which serves this need. Gross sales for past two years have been in excess of $2 million. To support and expand this effort a 15,000 sq. ft. commercial/industrial facility was purchased in Delhi, Ontario in 2006. WHS is one of only seven globally that are manufacturing this equipment and we are the only one in Canada! The market has been identified! Windham's mission is to add value to locally and regionally grown produce by providing the services required to extend the marketable shelf life of all food products to the present and future domestic and export markets.
The Products At Windham Harvest Specialties Limited we combine generations of hands-on farming experience with cutting edge technology. We have developed many energy efficient products designed to extend the marketable shelf life and increase utilization opportunities for our local produce. This technology can be packaged to serve any market on a worldwide basis. The acceptance or demand for these items is only now becoming mandatory. Global food markets are continually expanding and Windham is poised to take advantage of this opportunity by using and improving on our portfolio of products to meet these ever increasing needs. Some of these products can be viewed on our website, however, due to the ‘leading edge’ and prototype nature of our business, we have not posted our recent projects. We have identified new opportunities in freezing, drying and sanitation technologies which are necessary to feed the health and wellness markets with shelf stable products and have augmented our product offerings to support these new opportunities. Windham has a fleet of rental units to support North American growing operations that have not been able to support the full investment of equipment ownership.
